1. Overview & Applications Covered
This Privacy Policy describes how MedTech Labs handles information in connection with the application Echo - Voice Recorder & Memos (referred to in this document as "the Application" or "the Service").
This policy applies exclusively to Echo - Voice Recorder & Memos across its supported platforms (android) with Android Package identifier: com.voicememo.app.
2. Developer & Publisher Identity
The Application is published and operated by:
- Publisher / Organization: MedTech Labs
- Legal Entity: MedTech Labs
- Official Website: https://instantbiodata.in
- Dedicated Privacy Contact: medtech.publisher@gmail.com
3. Information Collection & Practices
Below is the verified inventory of data practices and permissions processed in connection with Echo - Voice Recorder & Memos:
No Remote Data Collection
Processed Locally OnlyThe application functions completely on-device without collecting or transmitting user data to external servers.
Data Types: No personal identifiers, No location data, No biometric data
User Control: Users can clear all stored voice memos and application settings at any time via in-app management or device system settings.
Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO)
Processed Locally OnlyWhen you initiate a recording, the application utilizes Android's runtime RECORD_AUDIO permission to capture audio through your device microphone. Recording only runs when explicitly activated by tapping Record and immediately halts upon tapping Stop or Pause. Audio streams are encoded into local files (such as M4A, AAC, or WAV) and stored strictly in your device's private sandboxed storage. Audio is never transmitted to cloud speech-to-text APIs, AI processing endpoints, or external servers.
Data Types: Live audio stream captured via device microphone hardware, Locally generated audio recordings and voice memos
User Control: Microphone access requires runtime permission and can be granted or revoked at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Permissions.
Local On-Device Storage
Processed Locally OnlyAll voice recordings, audio memo titles, recording timestamps, durations, category tags, audio waveform amplitude peaks, and playback preferences are stored exclusively on your device's local application storage and are never uploaded or synced to external servers.
Data Types: User-recorded audio files (M4A / AAC / WAV formats), Recording metadata (custom file name, creation timestamp, duration, file size), Audio playback settings (playback speed, repeat mode, volume levels), Application preferences (default audio format, sample rate, bit rate, theme)
User Control: Users can rename, manage, or delete individual recordings directly in the app, or clear all app data via Android system settings.
On-Device Audio Storage & User-Initiated Export
Processed Locally OnlyAudio memos are saved securely in your device's isolated application sandbox. When you choose to export or share a recording (for example, to Google Drive, email, or messaging apps), Echo invokes Android's native system share sheet. File transfer only occurs upon your explicit command and through your chosen destination app.
Data Types: Locally stored audio memo files, User-initiated system share intents
User Control: Users have full file custody and can play, rename, export, or permanently delete recordings at any time.
Foreground Recording & Playback Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE)
Processed Locally OnlyTo prevent Android from terminating the recording process when your screen turns off or while you switch between apps, Echo utilizes an Android Foreground Service with an ongoing notification. This keeps you informed that recording or playback is active and allows one-tap pause, resume, or stop actions.
Data Types: Active recording and playback state (recording, paused, playing), Recording duration and elapsed time timer
User Control: The notification is automatically dismissed when recording or playback stops, and notifications can be managed via Android system settings.
Audio Hardware & Encoder Configuration
Processed Locally OnlyTechnical hardware capabilities are queried ephemerally on-device to properly configure Android's MediaRecorder/AudioRecord engines and select the optimal microphone input. This data is never logged, stored, or transmitted externally.
Data Types: Supported hardware audio sample rates and channels (mono/stereo), Audio input device routing (built-in mic, headset, Bluetooth audio)
User Control: Handled automatically by the Android audio subsystem.
4. Analytics & Technical Diagnostics
Echo - Voice Recorder & Memos does not embed or include any third-party advertising, analytics, or telemetry SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics).

These diagnostics do not contain user identities or personal voice recordings, audio memos, or sound files.
